I have ten years of experience installing all types of flooring, though most of my experience is with carpet, vinyl and laminate. I am a licensed, bonded and insured independent flooring installer working in Alaska. If you frequent this blog, as I hope you will, you will find articles and discussions dealing with a wide variety of installation issues such as common problems and how to fix them, new techniques for installing common types of flooring, as well as tips for how to expand your business, cope with rising material costs, deal with employees and much more. Like all blogs, this will be an interactive exercise that takes all of us to function properly and be the best it can be. Just because I am a professional installer doesn't mean I know it all. Many of you may have more experience than I do in some areas and I welcome your comments. In addition to technical problem solving and new product discussions, I'd also like to keep a light feel to this blog. I will occasionally add entertaining, (and sometimes embarrassing) information about particularly humorous moments in my career, and I look forward to hearing some of yours. Anyone ever have an entire roll of heat tape unroll out the back of your truck on a busy and icy road in the middle of winter?.....Yeah, me neither...<grin> Thank goodness for helpers!
