Jenny Cross, the current Senior Sustainability Manager for Mohawk Residential has just been named Global Sustainability
Director for Mohawk Industries. In her new role, Jenny Cross will be working directly for the Chief Sustainability Officer
(CSO) and the Mohawk Industries Sustainability Council (comprised of the CSO, COO and all division presidents). This is a
new position and division at Mohawk Industries that has been in the works for more than a year.
As the Global Sustainability Director for Mohawk Industries, Jenny will be working with several Mohawk related entities
such as Dal–Tile, Unilin, as well as Mohawk Flooring where she has been for the last several years.
In her current position, Jenny worked with a great team of people who helped bring Mohawk Industries to be recognized as
the only flooring company in the prestigious Newsweek 500 Top Green Companies in America. In addition, Ms. Cross worked on
the Triexta project, which earlier this year granted Mohawk and DuPont a new carpet fiber by the Federal Trade Commission.
This is the first new carpet fiber name allowed by the FTC in over 50 years. Triexta can be found in Mohawk Flooring’s
popular SmartStrand carpet with Dupont Sorona.
With her new role and increased responsibility of the Mohawk brand as it relates to sustainability, the flooring industry
is sure to see Mohawk Industries increasing their place in the marketplace as the leader in the flooring industry for
sustainable practices and products.
