The building industry, aware of its social responsibilities in protecting the environment, has been at the forefront of
initiatives in promoting the increased usage of green, eco–friendly input materials. Following this initiative
manufacturers are striving to develop new products using recycled materials or increasing the percentage of recycled inputs.
The response from architects and builders has been overwhelming. This has resulted in a conscious decision for people to opt
for the maximum uses of green, eco–friendly materials in buildings, whether for residential or commercial purposes.
In response for the demand of green building products Innovative Ceramics Inc. has introduced their Vision line of
recycled tiles. This revolutionary tile has a minimum content of 55% recycled glass salvaged from post–consumer bottles
or other forms of post–consumer glass, and discarded windshields. 55% recycled content makes this tile product one of
the highest recycled content tile products currently available on the market. Such an enormous usage of discarded material
has resulted in a substantial space saving in landfills apart from the non–biodegradable nature of glass.
Vision recycled tiles from ICI can be used for a variety of applications including flooring, and come in versatile designs
in a wide range of 40 colors. The coloring goes throughout the body of the tile and is not restricted to the surface. Vision
recycled tile flooring are extremely durable and are ideally suited to high–traffic areas or any other areas where
porcelain or ceramic tiles would normally be used.
The manufacturer discourages the usage of Vision floor tiles for commercial applications that are prone to
excessive moisture.
