Sample image of Renick Millworks flooring installed in a homeI recently did some research on a company called Renick Millworks, LLC, a family–owned antique flooring millwork enterprise that uses reclaimed or salvaged lumber for their hardwood flooring products. Unlike some hardwood flooring manufacturers, I was impressed with the great steps that Renick Millworks has taken toward protecting and supporting our environment. By using reclaimed (also called salvaged or antique) wood, instead of harvesting fresh wood, Renick Millworks is able to offer eco–friendly, recycled hardwood floors to environmentally concerned customers.

Renick Millworks produces wide–plank solid wood flooring in antique chestnut, oak, and heart pine, as well as engineered flooring, all with reclaimed hardwood species. Renick Millworks also offers custom trims and moldings using this salvaged lumber. All of these products are 100% reclaimed except for an occasional custom order that requires new wood, making them very eco–friendly.

The principal suppliers of this salvaged lumber are demolition contractors, brokers, and small sawmills. Many of the structures dismantled are old barns, houses and other old structures that would otherwise have been demolished and burned.

Because of their eco–friendliness, Renick Millwork’s reclaimed hardwood flooring products are all FSC certified, meaning you can feel good about purchasing their reclaimed antique hardwood floors. To see these amazing reclaimed woods and to get more information about this green flooring, you can contact Renick Millworks at 508–368–7718.
