LEED Online v3

Need help managing your LEED 2009 documentation process? LEED Online v3 is a new and improved resource to help you through planning and executing your LEED certified green building project. If you aren't already aware, LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design which is a program designed to provide standards and certifications for building eco–friendly, green buildings, homes, commercial interiors, neighborhoods, and so on. The LEED rating system development is handled by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC); however, LEED Online is overseen by a third–party, the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI).

Let's take a look at some of the features of this updated LEED Online Version 3 launched April 27th, 2009:

  • LEED Online v3 has been updated to reflect the changes made in the new LEED 2009 rating system.
  • The program has been revamped with a new interface designed to be more user-friendly.
  • The LEED Online v3 tool has been built to streamline communication between the certifying bodies and project teams.
  • LEED Online v3 is designed to make project management more efficient by providing end–to–end process support.

It is important to note that all LEED 2009 projects with the exception of projects registered under LEED for Homes must be certified using the LEED Online v3 tool. Projects registered under the LEED Online v2 rating will continue to use this previous version, but can upgrade to LEED Online v3 at any time. Fees for upgrading will be waived until the end of 2009.

Like many other branches of the building industry, the flooring industry has seen a substantial rise in the demand for green certified buildings. Here at FindAnyFloor we have had many consumers request information on choosing the right floors that are eco–friendly, safe for one's health, and will contribute towards LEED certification. The LEED Online v3 system will help you do just this by walking you through choosing the right green floors from hardwood flooring to carpet, and just about any other potentially eco–friendly floor in between.

Overall, LEED Online v3 is smarter, faster and a better user experience than the previous version. To learn more about the new and improved LEED Online v3, visit the Green Building Certification Institute.
