Forbo Linoleum’s Marmoleum Click flooring is considered to be a very asthma and allergy friendly flooring choice. In fact, Marmoleum Click flooring is the only floor covering that is certified to be allergy and asthma friendly by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America® (AAFA). Let’s take a look at what Forbo’s Marmoleum Click is and why it is safe for adults, children, and pets with allergies or asthma.

What is Marmoleum Click Flooring by Forbo Linoleum?

Forbo’s Marmoleum Click flooring is actually linoleum flooring and is available in both panels and tiles. Linoleum is made of natural and sustainable resources that include linseed oil, pine rosin, and wood flour, making it a green flooring choice. Forbo offers 24 different colors of Marmoleum Click panels and tiles that can be mixed and matched to create different patterns and arrangements. Tiles are available in 12”x12” squares and panels are available in 12”x36” rectangles. With Marmoleum Click flooring, linoleum is now being used to create floors that range from bold and fashionable to neutral and elegant.

What makes Marmoleum Click so allergy friendly?

The AAFA considers several factors when determining a floor’s level of “allergy friendliness”. First, one must consider the floor’s ability to hold allergens. This is called allergen retention. Marmoleum Click flooring creates a smooth surface that has very low allergen retention. Additionally, the floor installation must not result in exposure to toxic materials or other irritants during and after installation. The AAFA also takes in consideration the floor cleaning products and methods that are recommended by the manufacturer. These procedures must work well in removing any potential allergens that have built up on the floor without increasing airborne allergens.

With these strict standards set forth by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, it is not surprising that, to this day, Marmoleum Click flooring by Forbo Linoleum is the only flooring that is certified to be asthma and allergy friendly.
