Eco Tile Flooring

Tile flooring can be both an eco-friendly and attractive choice for a home or office. A number of tile types can be recycled and made into new flooring. You can recycle, or find recycled varieties of ceramic, glass, rubber, plastic and cork flooring. And that's just the beginning; linoleum, stone and vinyl tiles can also be made with recycled content.

Why not choose eco tile flooring rather than tiles made with new materials? Eco tiles look and feel the same, and can last just as long as new tiles. Plus, they're often made with products that are friendlier to the environment. Potentially, this means less toxic chemicals emitted into the atmosphere - and consequently - you're breathing space. By choosing eco tile flooring you would not only be doing the environment a favor, you would be doing yourself and family a favor as well.

Make sure that if you decide on eco tile floors, you maintain them with green cleaning products. Harsh conventional products often emit toxins into the air that are hazardous to both health and the environment. Strong-smelling chemicals don't necessarily indicate a more effective cleaning. Choose green cleaners made with natural ingredients and see what a difference it can make to indoor air quality (IAQ).

I always feel cleaner with that clean scent. I have tried some green cleaning products and I feel like they just don't do the trick. I have switched from the green purchasing to making my own homemade cleaners with fun strong scents from oils. It works and it keep my home smelling nice. I have tile in my kitchen and its ready to be replaced. This was helpful because I like the look of tile, maybe a fun bright tile instead of my plain white ones ... sounds like recycled tiles may have more options for different themes because the materials are recycled which may mean more glass/porcelain/ceramic etc. mixed together. that would be funky!

I installed recycled tiles from Interstyle Ceramic & Glass. They provide glass and ceramic tiles made from recycled materials. They have a new collection of linear mosaic tiles that are from recycled contents as well. My bathroom looks great. Recycled tiles are just as elegant as any other tile out on the market. Interstyle Ceramic & Glass has locations all around the US so they'll probably easy to find. Thanks for spreading the word about eco friendly floor tiles.
