Wicanders® by Amorim a Green Cork Flooring ManufacturerWicanders by Amorim, a Portugal based company, has been a leader in producing eco–friendly, green cork flooring for over 130 years. Wicander’s natural cork flooring is actually made from the bark of the cork oak tree. Cork is a renewable resource as it is harvested without harming the tree itself. The cork oak tree can then regenerate its cork within 9 years, only to be harvested again and again.

Cork is not only an eco–friendly, green flooring choice but is also hypoallergenic, wear resistant, fire resistant, and water resistant, making cork flooring safe for kids, pets, and those with allergies. Cork flooring is great in kitchens, bathrooms, child playrooms, and just about any other room in your home.

Wicander’s eco–friendly, green cork flooring comes in glue–less floating installations as well as glue–down installations, offering an array of cork flooring choices. well looks like cork flooring is the safest way to go for a slight hypochondriac. No dust, no mites, no fire or water damage? Whats this floor really made of? J/K! I like the picture above, I just keep imagining a legit cork when I picture cork flooring in a home, but I guess it comes in lots of varieties. Glad I found Wicanders too sounds like a well established company.

I really like the idea of eco-friendly shades, I bet they really cost effective as well as good for the environment. I wonder if you have heard anything about Eco friendly laminate flooring. A lot of my friends are currently remodeling their homes and they are trying to buy all things Eco friendly and I am sure they would love to have Eco friendly laminate flooring.

Take a look at Wicanders web site and see the article concerning Acrodur(water-based acrylic binder)
which contains no solvents and is 100% formaldyhyde fee.
