CRI Seal of Approval - Deep Extraction Carpet Cleaning Machines

The Carpet and Rug Institute (CRI) offers their prestigious Seal of Approval on deep extraction carpet cleaning machines. If you have read my article on Carpet and Rug Institute CRI Certified Vacuums, you should recognize this CRI seal.

Unlike personal home vacuum machines, CRI does not recommend or give their Seal of Approval to home carpet extraction machines. While these products may come in handy, they tend to only remove surface stains, and not soil and stains that are deep in the carpet’s pile or backing. The Carpet and Rug Institute does, however approve professional carpet cleaning machines, also known as deep cleaning extractors, with their Seal of Approval.

CRI approved deep cleaning extraction machines, used by professional carpet cleaners, must meet strict standards in three testing categories. This includes soil removal, water removal, and surface pile retention. By meeting these standards at different levels, professional carpet deep extraction machines can be given the gold, silver, or bronze CRI Seal of Approval.

Deep cleaning extraction systems, which include extraction machines and a carpet cleaning solution used in conjunction, can also be certified by the CRI, though there is additional testing criteria specific to carpet cleaning solutions. In order for a carpet cleaning system to earn the CRI Seal of Approval, they are also tested for their rate of resoiling, colorfastness, and pH level, and are not allowed to use optical brighteners. To learn more about CRI certified carpet cleaning solutions, visit my recent blog titled CRI Seal of Approval on Carpet Cleaning Solutions.

It is easy to see that using carpet cleaning solutions, machines, and systems are a safe bet that will keep your carpets looking their best. To learn more about the CRI Seal of Approval for deep extraction carpet cleaning machines, visit the Carpet and Rug Institute.
