It has been a couple of weeks since I last posted a blog. With the holidays and all the travel for business I just
haven’t
had a second to post anything. The good news is that I have a ton of things I want to write about, so hopefully I will have
some time to catch up this weekend.
I have received several e–mails and calls about the AT&T vs Verizon blogs that I did before Thanksgiving. I
appreciate all
the feedback and realize there are two sides to every story. But in the end, it is all about user experience. For example,
this morning a friend of mine in North Carolina said she was returning her Verizon Droid after just 3 weeks of use. The apps
and interface worked great but the keyboard was hard for her to use. That being said, she wasn’t going to the iPhone as the
keyboard is even harder to use. It is examples like this that have been pouring in since I wrote the blogs.
The bottom line is that AT&T just doesn’t have the 3G coverage to compete with other carriers, especially
Verizon. Unless
something else happens that is worth mentioning, I am closing this chapter on the mobile phone wars. Something of interest
that I want to talk about this week is the fact that Facebook is reporting $750 million in income this year. Is it enough to
cover overhead? Does it justify their valuation? Stay tuned for blogs later this week that will dive into these Facebook
facts as well as some updates on other social media platforms.
