On Monday Apple announced that their iPhone app store had reached an amazing 2 billion downloads; yes, that is billion
with a "B". The store now has an impressive 85,000 apps available for download.

The Apple app store is adding more than 10,000 apps a month and getting more than 250,000
downloads in the same time
period. What makes this more impressive is that Apple claims to have over 125,000 app developers registered in their system.
This means that there is a wave of apps yet to be submitted to Apple.
Earlier this month I decided to move a few of our other company ideas onto Apple apps and sent out a request for an
iPhone
developer. We were met with a flood of companies applying for the job. It is amazing to me that in such a short time Apple
has gotten this much attention from the development community. Certainly there are largest app store ever, but when will the
growth start to tail off, or will it?
I myself have a ton of iPhone apps downloaded, but how does one keep up with the hundreds that are launched each day? Even
though Apple has a search feature in their store, I am sure someone else is perfecting a new type of application search
engine and online shopping guide. Perhaps that will become an Apple iPhone application as well.
