I fly a lot, always over 100,000 miles a year and as much as 300,000 air miles in a year. So I feel that I am a pretty
good judge of most of the major airlines, their staff, airport processes, etc.
After years of flying weekly, what is so compelling that I wanted to write a blog this morning about it? Yesterday I was
flying USAir from Minneapolis to Las Vegas and I had one of the best flight experiences of my life. Was the flight smooth
with no issues; not really, as it was really windy and therefore every turbulent coming into Vegas. So, why was it so great?
Simple, the flight staff, and one attendant in particular; John Miller.
Of all the airline staff I've met, John had one of the best attitudes I’ve ever experienced. He made sure that everyone
was comfortable, updated, and made USAir a pleasure to fly when the airline experience can be a very painful one these days.
Not only was he attentive to everyone, he was "Johnny on the spot." Just when you thought you might need something he
appeared with it before you could ask. And talk about funny, his sense of humor and wit made the 3 and a half hour flight go
by so fast that I was actually a little disappointed when it ended. I was left asking myself why can’t I ever have a staff
like this when on an 18 hour overseas flight?
Last year I changed airlines from United where I have been a 1K member for years and started at the bottom of the food
chain on USAirways. All I have to say is that despite the flaws of USAir, they are guaranteed to get my business and that of
my companies for the foreseeable future.
