Advantages of Glueless Laminate Floors

Shoppers for laminate flooring are often in a quandary about which type of laminate to select. Glueless or click–and–lock laminate floors are a unique and imaginative design where two adjacent pieces interlock with each other. Since click–and–lock laminate floors were designed it has become the preferred selection of most buyers. The reasons are not hard to appreciate.

Adjacent pieces of glueless laminate flooring lock into each other through a number of intriguing designs. Different manufacturers have their own designs in achieving this. In essence it is an advancement on the old tongue and groove principle. The distinct advantage is that the interlocked joint ensures that the pieces cannot be pulled apart.

Using this type of laminate floor can be installed by a DIYer saving the sometimes expensive charges of a skilled flooring installer. A lot of do–it–yourselfers install glueless laminate floors themselves. The ingenious interlocking device helps eliminate the possibility of error. You merely lay down the underlayment over which you lay the floor ensuring that each laminate piece is securely locked into its neighbor.

The other advantages over conventional laminate are that this design does away with straps to keep the joints together and to stay that way till the glue has dried. Furthermore, the possibility of the floor running out of square is taken out of the equation. Such a mistake cannot take place because the flooring will not lock together.

Another significant advantage is that the better laminate flooring manufacturers maintain very close tolerances between joints. This ensures a very close fit of the laminate floors. Furthermore the edges are specially treated so that when the joint is completed it is virtually water–tight.

Have you tried Craigslist? Selling and finding flooring on Craiglist, especially for one box items has proven successful for lots of flooring consumers.

I am assuming you have contacted Quick Step and asked them who the last dealers they sold Quick Step 800 Select Cherry u-816 to.
