TSH Resources Berhard

The TSH Group is a Malaysian company with a long history in resource industries. Its two core businesses involve the sourcing and milling of palm and wood.

Ekowood is a 65%–owned subsidiary of TSH Group that manufactures engineered hardwood flooring. It is a homegrown quality brand renowned for its uniqueness and durability and the fact it has been harvested from a renewable resource. The Ekowood factory has a capacity to produce 27 million square feet of hardwood flooring annually. Ekewood produces the largest range of wood flooring in Malaysia of which 90% is exported, much of it to the United States.

TSH Group was awarded a 100–year concession to conduct forest rehabilitation, industrial tree planting and environmental conservation over an area of 123,385 Ha. It is systematically carrying out its mandate in the following manner:

Environmental Conservation

24% or the allotted land with unparalleled topography and a profusion of flora and fauna has been earmarked for this purpose. The area is also abundant with fresh, clear water.

Natural Forest Management

10,000 acres of forest land has so far been rehabilitated with enrichment planting and 'silviculture'. The area was earlier severely exploited for timber and degraded. The labor employed is recruited from local tribes. The group has so far worked out a methodology for sustainable rotational harvesting with a reduced approach to impact–logging.

Tree Plantation

5.5 million trees are designed to be planted over a 13–year forest development program on 11,000 Ha. This effort underscores TSHs green commitment by achieving the following objectives:

  • Alleviating the effects of global warming
  • Reducing greenhouse gas emission, the main cause of global warming
  • Reviving an eco–friendly environment
