Pollen Allergies and Flooring Solutions

According to the WebMD.com, pollen or "hay fever" is a common household allergen and presently the cause of allergies and respiratory disease in over 35 million Americans. Hay fever symptoms consist of sneezing, runny nose and itchy eyes - a result of exposure to the pollen from certain trees, weeds and grasses.

Just as with dust, mites and pet dander allergies, it's recommended you choose flooring that can naturally resist pollen. Flooring made primarily from organic materials that resist pollen allergens include cork, bamboo, and linoleum. These floor types are popular with a broad range of allergy sensitive homeowners as they resist allergens (hypoallergenic) as well as fungi and mold growth (antimicrobial).

I have the worst allergies anyone has ever imagined. I replaced my carpet floors for cork flooring from Infinity Floors. I have seen a difference with my indoor allergies so much. I can see if pollen is on my cork if I have a window open rather than having it get stuck in my carpet and just sit there. Cork is a great floor for allergy sufferers. I also found hypo-allergenic rugs for my bathrooms online at Target.
