Tile flooring is one of the best choices for dogsKitchen flooring can get a real beating from active and attention-seeking dogs. For the sake of your kitchen, and pocketbook, it’s important that you choose a floor that can stand up to your dogs’ wear and tear. Depending on the size of your pooch, this could entail choosing a high–quality and high–cost floor covering. Keep in mind that dogs can tear, scratch, bite and pee on floors on a daily basis.

High-pressure laminate is a good option if you want wood floors with petsWhile my dogs have passed the puppy stage, they still have indoor accidents from time to time. After much trial and error, I’ve come to find that the best kitchen flooring for my dogs is tile. Tile flooring can withstand urine and water spills without suffering short– or long–term damage. Additionally, I can mop them as often as needed with dish soap and water. All in all, cleaning up after my dogs is cheap, easy and trouble–free.

Linoleum, Ceramic Tile, High-Pressure Laminate & Rubber flooring are the most durable kitchen floors for petsThe subject of kitchen flooring and dogs can be a real dilemma for those who have large rambunctious pups and a small budget. Some of the more durable floor types (e.g. high–pressure laminate) can be somewhat expensive. When it comes to flooring, you get what you pay for. While some kitchen floor types can entail high upfront costs, in the long run, they may just help you save money.

Some Kitchen Floor Types for Dogs:

  • Linoleum flooring
  • Ceramic tile flooring
  • High-pressure laminate
  • Rubber flooring

I was curious about something.I have tile floors in my kitchen all surrounded by grout. Now, I have a puppy who pees everywhere!!! What can I do about the grout? I don't feel like its clean even after scrubbing. Ive researched Konecto and think I may go with them but I just am not a handy-woman. If it truly does "click lock" into place maybe I can try it out. Does ANYONE have suggestions for me?

How long have you been working on this website, it looks great. Vinyl plank is a good option for kids and pets.

Thanks for both of your comments. In regards to John's questions, the site has been in development for over a year. We are now the #1 flooring site, so all the hard wood has paid off. Thanks for your compliments. For the concerned pet owners, was your grout sealed? I would actually recommend a sheet vinyl, linoleum, or rolled rubber...something with less seams for accidents to seep into. Have you checked out our pet friendly flooring section? Lots of great info here. Here is the link:http://www.findanyfloor.com/Pets/PetFriendlyFlooring.xhtml.

Hope that helps and let me know if you have any other questions!
