When it comes to bedroom carpet cleaning, Stanley Steemer does an excellent job. I recently put my home carpet cleaning machine up against a professional hot water extraction cleaning (commonly referred to as "steam cleaning") by the experts at Stanley Steemer. I had two separate bedrooms with beige carpet that needed cleaning in my home. Both rooms had a variety of stains ranging from food spills to areas where tracked in dirt has visibly built up over time in the doorway and other highly trafficked areas.

I personally cleaned one of these rooms with my home carpet cleaning machine in which I used hot water and an all–natural "green" carpet cleaning solution approved for my machine. I simply filled my unit, turned it on, and went up and down my room in narrow rows slowly applying water and extracting it back from the carpet, concentrating on the dirtiest areas.

For the other room, I paid for a professional carpet cleaning from the professionals at Stanley Steemer. Rather than using a small self–contained unit, they used a powerful van–mounted hot water extraction (HWE) machine. A long tube is then run from the van–mounted unit to the cleaning areas through which the hot water is applied in proper amounts and then immediately extracted from the carpet. Before the professionals from Stanley Steemer began cleaning my bedroom carpet, they used pre–treatments on the obvious stains. Once this was complete, they then did a thorough cleaning of the entire carpet. I was amazed with how clean my carpets looked. I also noticed that within a couple of hours after the professional cleaning, my carpets were almost completely dry. With my home carpet cleaning machine I had to wait until the next day! The powerful van–mounted hot water extraction machine used by Stanley Steemer clearly did a much better job of cleaning the carpets and extracting water than my home carpet cleaning machine.

I will be honest! At this point, the carpets I had personally cleaned looked nothing like the fresh, clean carpets done by the professionals at Stanley Steemer. There was no way I was letting these guys out of my house that easy! I had them re–clean my other bedroom and hit my living room and dining room while they were at it.
