Urine Off® a product by Bio-Pro Research, LLC removes urine stains and odorsUrine–Off Odor and Pet Stain Remover has saved my carpet more than once. In spite of over two years of potty training, my dog still has an occasional accident on my carpets and rugs. Over this time, I have spent hundreds of dollars on carpet cleaning equipment from small handhelds like the Bissell SpotBot, made specifically for pet spots, to all over carpet cleaning machines. While the machines work well for cleaning soil and most stains, alone they were not doing the trick on my pet’s urine. The urine smell would remain no matter how many times I cleaned.

Photo of Urine Off® line of prosuctsThat’s when I tried Urine–Off Odor and Stain Remover and was pleasantly surprised with the results. I ordered both the Urine–Off Odor and Stain Remover and the Pet Urine Finder at a good price here. The Pet Urine Finder is a UV black light that will make urine glow when turned on in a dark room. This is very useful as without it, it’s almost impossible to tell where pet stains are on dark carpet. Using this UV black light, I was able to easily locate the stains, and then use the Floor and Upholstery Spray or the Carpet and Rug Bullet Bottle Injector to apply the Urine Off stain remover. Tougher stains would take a couple of applications, but sure enough, the stains appear to be gone. The smell is no longer there and the spots no longer light up under the UV black light.

Now, I use Urine–Off when needed and still have my carpets steam cleaned every 6 months. As a result, my carpets still look and smell as new as the day I bought them. I recommend Urine–Off Odor and Stain Remover to anyone that has problems with pet urine on carpet.

So did you get down and put your nose to the carpet and smell, to see if the odor was gone? Do you rinse the product.

Thanks for your questions Glenn.

It took a couple of applications for stains that had dried, but yes, nose to carpet, I couldn't smell it anymore. I use my Bissell SpotBot to give it a light rinse and extract as much water I can afterward. Urine Off is a good way to keep your carpets fresh between steam cleaning if you have pets.

Thanks Stacey, I had the same question about Urine-Off. I thought that I would have to do a sniff test and I was right. It's probably easiest to do it that way but its gross. As long as my carpets are clean and my carpet smells fresh then I'm ok with it! Thanks for the help Stacey.

You're welcome Megan. Glad I could help.

A carpet cleaning business is rather detailed. I'm not sure of your experience, but you'll have to know a lot about stains and how to properly treat them and such, also what best to use on what types of carpets. The ones connected to vans are much more convienent for doing a lot of houses throughout one day. As far as "best", you're not really comparing apples to apples if you're talking about a basic smaller one coming from a department store.

Hi Carpet cleaner,
I completely agree that a department store home carpet extraction machine cannot compare to the use of regular professional steam cleaning. I would never discourage homeowners from annual professional carpet steam cleaning regardless of what products they use to keep their carpets tidy in the meantime.

Thanks for your comments We always appreciate hearing from flooring professionals!

I bought Urine-Off from an online retailer and found that it really does work. I normally do what "carpet cleaner" suggests... get my carpets cleaned annually by a professional but in the meantime I can't afford to get a pro to come out every time my dog makes a mistake on my carpet. I highly recommend Urine-Off. It really does work to get the smell out of carpets, upholstery etc. great floor cleaning product!

Thanks so much for this. I couldn't do without Urine-Off. Such a great product. And thanks for the referral to 1877FloorGuy too... very easy to order and get fast! Thanks!

For pet stains try a new product called Fizzion. I bought some this week and it really works well on my carpets. I tried other products that were just ok Fizzion is amazing.

I used Urine off and it worked but I did it twice just in case. The smell is gone from my carpet and it lingers in some sections because it was just too deep and it penetrated the padding. I should change it as soon as possible but have been on a tight budget.

Will the Urine-off work on my sisal rug?? The stain has dried & I've sprayed a vinegar/water solution on it, but the yellow mark won't go away!!!! The problem with sisal is that I can't make it too wet or it will shrink -please help!
