laminate floors florida, in response to your post; swollen laminate as a result of steam cleaning or water logging from other sources is usually unrepairable. It is better to prevent damage by avoiding steam cleaning than having to repair it after the fact.
Laminate and hardwood steam cleaners seem to be popping up everywhere! I've seen them at homes shows, on TV and most recently on QVC. Every single person/company selling flooring steam cleaners claim they are safe and GREAT for laminate and hardwood. Before buying, I Googled it and found this post. I then did a little more research and went to 7 different laminate and hardwood flooring websites, including the brand I have. EVERY SINGLE SITE had said NOT to use water or steam cleaner. In fact some sites posted using a steam cleaner will void their warranty. I'm glad I found this post before I ruined my beautiful flooring with a steam cleaner! Thank You!
Glad we helped to save your laminate floors! Let us know if we can be of any more help in the future.
So whats the deal with all those steam cleaning commercials I see on tv? They make it seem like you can steam clean ANY floor including vinyl and hardwood with their product. What a joke. Thanks for the help before I steamed my laminate. glad I did the research
I have what I believe are original 1945 hardwood floors which I want to refinish myself. It looks as if the pattern is every 3-4 slats (lighter mixed with darker). How do I start? Some are cracked, wher do I go to replace? I was going to use the vinegar/water mixture to see if that would cut the years of junk....I saw a video on sanders, also...guess I would need to rent one, yes??
my sons dog is scratching our hardwood floors. any suggusting h how to stop her?
You can use little rubber tips made to go on dogs nails. Or doggy booties, though they may be hard to keep on. You best bet is keeping them trimmed and filed smooth. Good luck!
I use only Bruce cleaner with a swiffer to clean my laminate floors, but I have problems with shoe and foot prints showing on my floors. What am I doing wrong?
