I recently tried several of Mohawk's FloorCare Essentials cleaning products including their Hard Surface Care Kit. This kit comes with a 22 oz. bottle of Mohawk’s Hard Surface Cleaner as well as a mop with wet and dry microfiber mop cloths and a floor cleaning guide with lots of great tips.

Mohawk Floor Care Essentials products for cleaning hard surface floorsThe description says that Mohawk’s FloorCare Essentials Hard Surface Care Kit contains a non–toxic, biodegradable cleaning solution that is safe for hardwood, laminate, tile, and vinyl flooring. The hard surface cleaning spray said that the organic solution would leave a streak and spot free shine with no dull residue being left behind. To find out for myself, I put this floor care system to the test on every hard flooring surface in my home.

First, you are instructed to dry mop the floor with the dry microfiber cloth to remove dust and loose dirt. Next, you spray the wet microfiber mop cloth with the hard surface floor cleaner until damp and mop until clean. Simple enough and it really worked great. The hardwood floors in my living room are shining, the tile and grout lines in my kitchen are white again, and the vinyl in my bathroom is squeaky clean.

One thing that I recommend is that you purchase a couple of extra wet and dry microfiber mop cloths for cleaning large areas as they should be changed when they become soiled to avoid streaking. While the mop cloths are washable, you don’t want to get half–way done mopping the floors in your home and have to wait for them to go through a wash and dry cycle before finishing.

Overall, I think Mohawk’s FloorCare Essentials Hard Surface Care Kit is a great buy. You can find good deals on this and other Mohawk hardwood cleaning products here.  Visit my article for more information on Mohawk FloorCare Essentials hard surface and carpet cleaning products.

I like Mohawks carpet cleaner the best. It got my gross stain out of the carpet that had been sitting there for way too long. It worked really well! The only problem is that it worked so well that the carpet surrounding the spot where the stain was previously looks dirty now! HAHA! Well, at least I know it worked!Curious, could I pour that into a steam cleaner and use that as a detergent or is there a special carpet cleaner that Mohawk recommends for machines?Anyone have any suggestions? Would like to use what I already have....

Hi Krista,
Thanks for you comment. For all over carpet cleaning you can use Mohawk 1step Carpet & Upholstery Cleaner which comes in a 96 oz. bottle. Mohawk Pet Odor & Soil Remover also says it is safe for use in carpet extraction machines. Look on your bottle to see if it says it is safe for use in carpet extraction machines as I'm not sure exactly which one you have. Let me know if you have any other questions!
