Ty Pennington Bamboo Flooring

What do Ty Pennington and Bamboo Floors have in common? They have been brought together to offer an exclusive bamboo flooring choice perfect for a home improvement project. Ty Pennington is the personality behind the show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition on ABC. Now Ty has created his very own flooring collection that not only includes bamboo but also hardwood flooring. What makes Ty's bamboo flooring collection different from most bamboo floors, is its unique stained tones. Most bamboo flooring companies sell two basic colors, natural and carbonized. Both of these bamboo shades are created naturally and stains are usually not used. The Ty Pennington Bamboo Collection uses stains to create colors such as Sambuca and Bordeaux. In addition, Ty has a natural colored bamboo floor called Miso, a famous name used in China where this bamboo is produced.

I love Ty Pennington! I actually saw an AD for his floors and searched online! Extreme Makeover Home Edition is an awesome show. I was curious though... Does anyone have Bamboo floors in their home? Are they really as durable as they say? It seems like a very flimsy type of flooring. I may be wrong though! Anyone have an opinion?

Hi Brenda, Ive been searching through this site for a bit of time now and I saw your post. I've been re-modeling my home and using the web as my tool. Bamboo is actually a type of grass... so this is what makes it so Eco-friendly and desirable. Also I've gone and checked out some bamboo types myself at local flooring stores (price, installation etc.) and most of them are all very durable. Just make sure you do your research before you buy. Hope this helps

I had Bamboo flooring in my apartment and it is just as durable as other hardwood floors. Plus it looks great, you can see the notches which gives it quite an interesting look.
